Mind, Heart, Body: PART 1: Bill Wilder

December 15, 2020

About This Episode

Last night I poured 2 bags of ice in the bathtub and filled it with cold water.

Then I got in.

And I sat there for 10 minutes.

Why did I do this?

I’ll explain in a moment…

But first, I need to answer a bigger question.

I’m a real estate investor. If you’re reading this, you probably know me as “that guy” who talks about how to find deals, how to get private funds, where the market is going, and so on.

So why am I talking about ice baths?

What does this have to do with real estate?

The answer is complicated…

If you’re flipping or wholesaling houses, or buying rentals, or investing in multifamily properties, you’re an entrepreneur. You’re a self-starter. You’re good at waking up every day and getting stuff done.

You have to be.

But sometimes we’re NOT good at other things.

Sometimes the things we REALLY care about get pushed to the back burner… and we don’t even notice or realize it’s happening until AFTER the damage has been done.

I’m speaking from personal experience here.

Recent personal experience.

Which brings me to the bathtub full of ice…

Just over a month ago, my wife Lucy and I spent 3 days at a weird “wellness center” in North Carolina.

And when I say weird, I mean it was weird.

Weird and incredible.

Weird and life-changing.

The “sitting in ice” thing is one of the strategies I learned there.

To break down why I do it and how it works, I asked Bill Wilder, the founder and director of the Wilder Wellness Center, to join me on the 7 Figure Flipping podcast today and share some of the same insights he shared with me and Lucy a month ago.

This is going to be different from our usual content.

But if you’re a real estate investor or an entrepreneur like me, this might be some of the most important stuff we’ve ever covered.

What I got out of those 3 days changed me so completely that I knew I had to share the whole story on the podcast.

So I’m launching a 3-episode series with Bill Wilder and his team.

We’re going to talk about things real estate investors don’t usually talk about…

Things like your heart, your mind, your body, and how they connect.

2020 has been a rough year for a lot of people.

As the year comes to an end, I want to bring some attention to these “deeper” parts of who we are.

If we neglect this stuff…

…we could find ourselves burnt out, unsatisfied, and alone, wondering how it all went wrong.

I’ve seen it happen.

It almost happened to me.

Check out the first episode here… and I’ll catch you on the flip side!
